What is a wool buffing pad?
A wool buffing pad is a polishing disc with a wool working face, usually on hook-and-loop backing. Detailers use it with compound on a rotary or dual-action polisher to cut oxidation and sanding marks. “Wool” is not one grade: twist, pile height, blend and any foam interface change cut speed, heat and finish.
What to put on a wholesale spec
- Diameter to match the backing plate (common retail sizes 5–7 inch; metric series 50–180 mm on some SKUs)
- Face: twisted, blended, short-pile, or wool-on-foam
- Backing: hook-and-loop, centre hole, edge wrap
- Machine: rotary or DA — do not assume one pad behaves the same on both
- Packing: bag, label, barcode, carton mark
