RQF:

Question 1. What’s the difference between a buffing pad and a polishing pad?
Polishing creates a brushed or lined finish, whereas buffing removes the lines and creates a bright luster finish.

Question 2. What are the different color buffing pads used for?
A manufacturer would add abrasives to a pad to make it better at doing a specific job. They would then dye the pad a certain industry standard color, so that the end user would know what the job of the pad is just by seeing its color.

Question 3 . Should buffing pad be wet?
When using polishing pads, water is the preferred lubricant. However, you can run the pads either wet or dry, depending on the situation. For example, when running them dry, a dustless vacuum is a must-have! Most people run polishing pads fully wet.
